We are able to listen and understand directly their expressions and thoughts, without the need for an interpreter standing in between. These advantages have allowed us to acquire a fundamental understanding of the Chinese culture, mentality and habits, as well as of the similarities and differences with our own culture that we had been immersed in before we came to China.
